EPIKOTE 828 is an unmodified, medium-viscosity epoxy resin based on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin. It is a direct equivalent of ED-20 epoxy resin.
EPIKOTE 828 provides excellent pigment wetting and high resistance to filler settling. It offers good mechanical properties and high chemical resistance.
As EPIKOTE 828 is a pure bisphenol A-based epoxy resin, it is prone to crystallization during storage, particularly at low temperatures.
Applications
EPIKOTE 828 is used in the production of durable, high-strength coatings with a high solids content, including:
- epoxy enamels;
- self-leveling floors;
- adhesives;
- primers;
- putties.
It is also used in the manufacture of various electronic and electrical components, including encapsulation and impregnation applications.
It can also be used for filament winding.

Storage conditions
EPIKOTE 828 should be stored at room temperature, protected from moisture, in its original tightly sealed packaging.
Under these conditions, the minimum shelf life is three years from the date specified in the certificate.
If EPIKOTE 828 becomes cloudy or crystallizes during storage, it can be restored by heating to 55–65 °C while stirring.
