Shifer Enamel

Shifer Enamel — a two-component enamel based on a modified silicone resin. It has good adhesion to concrete, asbestos-cement products, and metals, and is resistant to weather conditions, including in industrial areas and marine climates. It is characterized by high heat resistance. It imparts water-repellent properties, frost resistance, resistance to weathering, and solar radiation to surfaces.

The coating retains its decorative appearance for a long time and is resistant to fungi and mold. It can be used for painting rooms with high humidity. Washing the painted surface with cold and hot water, as well as mild alkaline detergents, is permitted.

Appointment

For protection slate and asbestos-cement pipes against atmospheric degradation, asbestos migration, and also to give surfaces a decorative appearance.

Consumption per coat 100–120 g/m²
Thickness per coat 25–30 µm
Number of coats 1–2

Drying Time

Surface temperature Until the stickiness disappears Before applying the next coat Full drying
+5 °C 5 hours 10 hours 36 hours
+20 °C 1 hour 5 hours 24 hours

Drying time may vary depending on air humidity and air exchange intensity. Applying warm air before the solvent has completely evaporated is prohibited to prevent the formation of a surface film that hinders the release of solvent from the coating layer.
